The Day Before

If you have to start very early in the morning, it makes sense to take care of the most important preparations the day before. For the perfect appearance, the leather gear is cleaned and polished. With the ‘Lovely Leder’ from #WHINNYXBAY, cleaning is done in no time. For the perfect finish, the matching ‘Shiny Leder’ is ideal. So if the bridle, saddle, and boots are already #SHOWBEREIT, it also makes sense to gather the rest of the equipment. Of course, we need a #PERFECTMATCH look for horse and rider – what else? Here is an overview of the essential equipment for horse and rider:

It is also important that before driving with the trailer, you have checked whether it is roadworthy. Do the tires have enough air pressure, do all the lights work, and is the brake loose? Only when all this is clarified can you plan the trip with your favorite.

You should also have refueled beforehand so that this is already taken care of.

And very important: don’t forget the #ABHAKEN. For many competitions, this must be done by the evening before. Otherwise, unfortunately, no start is possible.

Now that everything is packed and the trailer is safe, you can start the #GLOWUP of your horse. The spray shampoo ‘An die Wäsche’ from #WHINNYXBAY gives you everything for a shiny coat, completely without spots. Additionally, you should clean the hooves with a brush so that no sand, mud, or horse manure is visible, because on the big day your favorite should simply look perfect. For the right care, we then use our hoof oil ‘Schwing die Hufe’.

A perfect mane – especially dressage riders dream of that. For an optimal look, the hairstyle of the horse must also be right. Therefore, it is advisable to do this on the morning of the competition. A secret tip for braiding is the ‘Braid it up’ from #NAF. It gives you the necessary grip when braiding and ensures that the braids hold well and look neat for a long time. It also gives the mane an excellent shine. This way, the braids would even hold overnight.

The Big Day

The most important thing first: #KEEPCALM, because calmness is key today. Therefore, your route should already be planned so that you arrive on time and have enough time for the #GETREADY and the warm-up can proceed stress-free. It is also important to always keep an eye on the competition schedule, whether online or by phone at the registration office.

Your first stop upon arriving at the competition venue should be the registration office – whether there is a horse passport check in your class or not, you will find out here. Plan enough time for preparing your horse and warming up. Here applies: better have 5 minutes more than stress, because stress immediately transfers to your horse. Enjoy your competition and show everyone how great you and your horse look. A little insider tip: A little glitter never hurts ;)

The After Work Program

After a successful competition, only one thing is missing: the portion of #TURNIERPOMMES. You’ve earned it now, and it simply must not be missing. Maybe a little sparkling wine to toast a great start to the season – and the competition day is perfect.

After a long day at the competition, your favorite is at least as happy about their stall as you are about the sofa. Now a little snack and then you both get some rest. The next competition is already waiting.
