This is what our customers say

HKM Eggbutt Bit 16 mm

The HKM Eggbutt Bit is 16 mm thick and made of German silver.

Mouthpiece and material

The single-jointed mouthpiece has a joint in the middle. The special shape of the eggbutt rings is designed to prevent them from slipping through the horse’s mouth. The mouthpiece is made of German silver, and the rings are made of stainless steel. According to HKM, German silver promotes salivation and chewing. The rings on this eggbutt bit are fixed to the mouthpiece, keeping the bit steady in the horse’s mouth.

Sizes

You can choose from sizes 55/115 width, 65/115 width, 65/125 width, 65/135 width, and 70/145 width. The mouthpiece is 16 mm thick. The size indicates the ring diameter and bit width in millimeters. Measure your horse’s mouth width before buying. A properly fitting bit extends about 0.5 cm on each side. If it’s too narrow, it will pinch; if it’s too wide, it will slip.

Care and instructions

Rinse the bit with clean water after every ride. Remove any feed residue thoroughly. Check it regularly for wear and sharp edges. Store it in a dry place. A specialist can help you choose the right bit if you have any questions. This will keep it comfortable for your horse for a long time.
